Diagnosis of hair and scalp conditions
Issues such as hair loss, thinning hair or scalp conditions require a thorough diagnosis.
A trichological consultation at Medistica includes a medical history review, a scalp examination and a basic trichoscopy, on the basis of which a personalised treatment plan is drawn up.
An experienced trichologist
Consultations are conducted by a cosmetologist–trichologist who works closely with dermatologists and aesthetic medicine specialists on a daily basis.
This makes it possible to:
- examine hair and scalp issues within a broader context,
- combine trichological therapies with dermatological treatment (where appropriate),
- and implement a coherent treatment plan.

What does a trichological consultation involve?
1. Consultation and interview with a trichologist
We discuss:
- the problem the patient has come to see us about,
- how long the symptoms have been present,
- lifestyle, diet and stress,
- previous treatments and hair care.
2. Scalp examination and trichoscopy
We carry out a basic trichological examination using a trichoscope.
Trichoscopy allows us to assess:
- the condition of the scalp,
- the hair follicle openings,
- the presence of inflammation,
- hair density,
- hair miniaturisation.
The examination is non-invasive and painless.
3. Presentation of the results of the trichological consultation
We explain:
- what may be causing the problem,
- what realistic treatment options are available,
- whether a further medical consultation or laboratory tests are recommended.
Personalised trichological treatment plan
Based on the consultation, an action plan is drawn up, which may include:
- trichological treatments in the clinic,
- hair growth-promoting therapy,
- scalp regeneration treatments,
- at home care.
The plan is tailored to:
- the nature of the problem,
- the patient’s expectations,
- and their availability.
The therapy may be adjusted during the course of treatment, depending on the skin’s response and progress.
Cooperation with a doctor – when necessary
If, during the consultation, the trichologist identifies indications for a dermatological or medical consultation, they will recommend this to the patient.
In justified cases, a joint consultation or discussion of the treatment plan with a doctor is possible.
At home care – a complement to trichological therapyHome care – a complement to trichological therapy
Based on the scalp examination, the trichologist prepares recommendations for home care.
If the patient wishes, they can put together a personalised set of products to support the therapy during the visit.
The selection of products always takes into account the needs of the scalp and the patient’s budget.

We answer your questions
The most common causes of hair loss include hormonal issues, poor diet and prolonged stress. In addition, problems with scalp care, existing medical conditions and their treatment contribute to this condition.
The clinic identifies different types of hair loss and offers effective treatment requiring the collaboration of dermatologists, trichologists and cosmetologists to address the root causes, rather than merely masking the symptoms.
