Viral warts treatment
Viral warts, also known as common warts, are small, hard growths on the skin caused by infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV). They most commonly appear on the hands, feet and other parts of the body. They have a rough surface and may be painless or cause discomfort, especially when located in areas exposed to pressure. Warts are contagious and can spread across the skin or from person to person.
Treatments for viral warts
At the Medistica, we offer effective treatment for viral warts; however, the first and most important step is always a consultation with a dermatologist. It is the specialist who assesses whether a particular skin lesion is indeed a viral wart and, based on the diagnosis, selects the appropriate treatment method.
Depending on the nature of the lesion, its location and stage of development, we use one of three proven methods: cryotherapy using the CryoPen device, bleomycin therapy (administered by injection or locally) and laser therapy using a CO₂ laser. Each of these methods is effective
and safe, and the decision on which specific treatment to choose is made on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the your needs
and expectations.
Treatment always begins with a thorough dermatological assessment, which not only confirms the diagnosis but also rules out other, potentially more serious skin conditions.

What should you do if a viral wart appears?
Skin changes that resemble warts (viral warts) can have different causes – not every bump or thickening on the skin is a wart. Therefore, if you notice any unusual lesions, it is advisable to book an appointment with a dermatologist.
The doctor will examine the lesion thoroughly, make an accurate diagnosis and – if they confirm that it is a viral wart – recommend the best course of treatment. Depending on the location and nature of the lesion, this may involve cryotherapy, treatment with bleomycin or another effective option, such as laser therapy.
The sooner you start treatment, the easier it will be to solve the issue and reduce the risk of the lesions spreading or spreading to other areas of the skin.
